The work week begins damp and dreary. Clouds and light showers spread across the area through Monday morning.

Temperatures Monday will still be warm, mostly in the upper 70s by the afternoon. But rain and scattered thunderstorms will make the day less enjoyable.

During the afternoon and early evening, periods of steady to heavy rain are possible, especially in the southern half of our area.

A line of stronger thunderstorms is possible overnight along the Lehigh Valley and Berks County. This line could produce lightning, thunder, stronger gusts and heavy rain.

The rainy conditions continue Tuesday, with scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm. Even Wednesday may see an isolated light rain shower.

The winds will shift from the southwest Monday to the east Tuesday. That will bring considerably cooler air into the region. A cold front also approaches from the west.

As a result of the cooler air, temperatures fall to the 60s Tuesday to Thursday. Friday begins another warm-up, which leads to mostly nice weekend. Next week could bring 90s back to the area.
