From Philly to Harrisburg.
Decarcerate PA led a protest on the state capitol steps in Harrisburg today. About 150 people participated, including members of Fight for Philly.
Today's protest was the final stop of a 10 day march from Philadelphia to Harrisburg. About 20 people participated in the 113 mile journey, which began May 25 at LOVE Park.
"We went all out physically and mentally," said Sean Damon of Decarcerate PA. "We did it because we believe there is another way possible."
The protester's message to Governor Tom Corbett and Pennsylvania lawmakers is-- "Stop investing in prisons. Instead invest in communities," according to Jesse Kudler of Fight for Philly.

Decarcerate PA wants lawmakers to vote for a people's budget and against prison expansion. Governor Corbett's administration plans to build two new prisons in Montgomery County at a cost of $400 million, according to Damon.
State legislators Vanessa Lowery Brown and Ronald G. Waters spoke on the capitol steps in support of the protesters.
"It was a great success with a lot of energy," said Kudler.
