Prosecutor: Man Fatally Bludgeons Girlfriend, Her Father Inside NJ Home

A man accused of fatally bludgeoning his girlfriend and her father in the southern New Jersey home where they all lived is now facing two counts of murder.

Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi said bail has been set at $1 million for Dennis Pozniak, who was being held Sunday at a medical facility pending a psychiatric evaluation.

The 27-year-old Pozniak is accused of killing 24-year-old Nicole Wilson and her 52-year-old father, Bryan Wilson. Bernardi said both victims died of head trauma due to bludgeoning, but would not provide further details on how they were killed.

The slayings occurred inside the Mount Holly home sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, but Bernardi said a motive remains under investigation.

Police were called to the Washington Street home around 9 a.m. Saturday by a family member who had found the bodies. Pozniak was inside the residence at the time, Bernardi said, and he was treated at a hospital for several lacerations that authorities believe were self-inflicted.

No other injuries were reported in the incident.

Bernardi said Pozniak is originally from Cinnaminson, but had been living with his girlfriend's family for several months.
