A young pregnant woman was shot and killed shortly before 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the basement of her South Philadelphia row home, authorities said.
Investigators arrived on the 2300 block of S Mildred Street to find a 24-year-old Tiffany Gillespie with a bullet wound to the head, according to Philadelphia Police.
Gillespie was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her boyfriend, Aaron Fitzpatrick, 19, has been arrested in her murder. Investigators say Fitzpatrick was upset that Gillespie was pregnant with his baby.
The victim’s mother says that her daughter was six months pregnant at the time. The victim is also mother to a three-year-old girl and 8-year-old son, police said.
Those children were home at the time of the murder, but were not harmed.
