Police: Robber Returns to Scene for Lost Keys

Police said a strong-armed robber who lost his keys while beating up a woman for her purse in a Philadelphia suburb was arrested after returning to the crime scene to search for his lost keys.

Upper Darby police said 19-year-old Cordell Kelly attacked a 30-year-old woman for her Coach purse early Saturday morning.

Investigators at the crime scene said they found a keychain that had Kelly's address on it.

A police officer waited in an unmarked car and authorities said Kelly soon showed up, searching for his keys, and was arrested.

Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood told the Philadelphia Daily News the stolen purse was found during a search of Kelly's home.

He charged with robbery, theft and related offenses. It couldn't immediately be determined if he had an attorney.

The Upper Darby Police Department and Chitwood made tweets about the activity.
