Middletown Township Police Officer Accused of Possessing Child Pornography

Investigators said they searched through the home of Middletown Township police officer Brian Craig Reeves, 52, back on June 2 and found numerous illicit images of underage children on electronic devices

A Bucks County police officer is accused of possessing child pornography, officials announced Wednesday.

Investigators said they searched through the home of Middletown Township police officer Brian Craig Reeves, 52, back on June 2 and found numerous illicit images of underage children on electronic devices. One of the devices was a USB drive in a drawer next to his bed, police said.

Reeves was arrested and charged with sexual abuse of children and criminal use of a communication facility. His bail is set at $50,000 unsecured. Under his bail conditions, Reeves is not allowed to access the internet or have unsupervised contact with minors.

The Middletown Township Police Department suspended Reeves without pay. They also released the following statement in response to his arrest.

"We are aware of the serious charges that have been filed today against Officer Brian Reeves, and are now conducting an internal investigation. Officer Reeves is suspended without pay until the internal investigation is concluded and the appropriate action is taken, which we expect to happen very quickly.  The horrible criminal actions of this one person do not represent what the hardworking men and women of our police department stand for, and do not reflect upon the core values of our agency or anyone associated with it."
