Pittsburgh police say a K-9 officer caught a downtown burglary suspect who was bitten in the process.
Officers responded to an alarm at Fellow-Cire Apparel shortly after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
That's where they found boarded windows that had been opened and an unlocked door. Police also found a suitcase filled with baseball caps, belts and other accessories, and a jewelry display case sitting on the sidewalk across the street.
Police say they entered the business and found 26-year-old Christopher Gandy in a storage area. They sent the dog after Gandy after he jumped out a window and tried to run away. Police say Gandy was carrying a folding knife.
Online court records don't list an attorney for Gandy who faces a preliminary hearing April 20 on burglary and related charges.
