Police Identify Man Shot by Trooper in Delaware

Delaware State Police have identified a man they say beat a trooper with a cane and shocked her with her stun gun before she shot him.

Troopers said Thursday 47-year-old Glenn Sego Jr. is in fair condition at Christiana Hospital. Police say he will be formally charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and other offenses when he is discharged from the hospital.

Authorities say on Wednesday afternoon, a trooper went to a home in Hartly for a report of a suicidal person. Investigators say Sego began beating the trooper with a metal cane, and she took out her electronic stun gun to subdue him.

Police say Sego took the device from the trooper and shocked her with it. Authorities say the trooper then shot Sego in the leg.
