The New Castle County Police say an elderly man and woman have been found dead inside a home near Newport.
The News Journal of Wilmington reports that the bodies were discovered on Wednesday afternoon at approximately 3pm. A woman asked police to perform a welfare check on her neighbors located on the 300 block of East Highland Avenue in Lyndalia.
New Castle County police arrived on scene and entered the home through an unsecured window. Once inside, officers found an elderly man and woman deceased.
No other details have been released.
Authorities continued to investigate.
