Police: Delaware Man Stabs 2 Roommates, Surrenders

Delaware State Police say a Laurel man stabbed two roommates, then surrendered to police in Maryland.

Police said in a statement Monday that 29-year-old Dwight Shivers was asked to leave the home Sunday. Police say Shivers then took a kitchen knife from a drawer and stabbed a 20-year-old woman as she washed dishes, and her 24-year-old boyfriend.

Police say Shivers drove off, but pulled into the Maryland State Police barracks in Salisbury, and surrendered about 30 minutes later. The injured man was flown to a hospital in stable condition and the woman is expected to be treated and released.
