Deadly Shooting Leads to Police Chase From Delaware to Pennsylvania

Two men were taken into police custody after a pursuit that crossed state lines ended with a crash on a busy road in Delaware County around dinnertime Saturday.

Police caught the men after the crash in Folsom, Pennsylvania. The suspects ran from the crash scene, but weren't fast enough.

Initially, the men were wanted in connection with a deadly shooting in Wilmington, Delaware. Police found a man -- who died -- and woman -- who was hurt -- with gunshot wounds at 2nd and Monroe streets. While on scene, officers watched a car speed away prompting a pursuit, according to investigators.

The chase crossed state lines into Pennsylvania via Interstate 95 to I-476 northbound and then MacDade Boulevard before ending with a crash on Fairview Road.

"The two suspects, one went down Fairview, one went down that way, on foot, in front of Raymour and Flannigan," said witness Jeanette Youngcourt.

Following a short foot chase, officers captured each suspect, police said. A weapon was also recovered.

Following the shooting, the male victim died at the hospital. The woman remained in stable condition Sunday, said police.

The suspects were held in Ridley Township, Delaware County until Wilmington Police, who are handling the investigation, picked them up.
