A man behind the wheel of a rented sports car led police on a high-speed chase that covered two southeastern Pennsylvania counties and ended in a hospital parking lot.
The wild chase began when Pennsylvania State Police clocked a white Dodge Charger going more than 90 mph along Interstate 95 northbound around 1 a.m.
The driver exited onto Woodhaven Road (Route 63) and pulled over along the highway in Bensalem, Pa., according to police. As troopers approached his rental car, the driver took off.
The chase then left the highway and weaved onto surface roads – eventually ending up in front of Aria Health Torresdale Campus at Knights and Red Lion Roads in Northeast Philly.
“The vehicle that was being pursued by state police then jumped the curb and wound up on the grounds of Aria-Torresdale Hospital,” said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. “When it jumped the curb two of its tires blew out.”

With his car disabled, the yet-to-be identified driver made a dash for it.
“The driver then exited the vehicle, fled on foot through the parking lot where he ended up trying to hide a parking garage,” Small said.
With state police, Philadelphia Police’s search helicopter and hospital security closing in the man couldn’t hide.
Police arrested him under suspicion of drunk driving and eluding police.
