$600K Swiped From Montco Condo Association: Cops

A Montgomery County condo manager and his acquaintances took more than half a million dollars from the Plymouth Hill Condominium Home Owners Association, Plymouth Township Police said.

Vincent Lopez of Quakertown Pa. and three of his associates were arrested after allegedly swiping about $600,000 from the condo association over a three-month period, police said.

A detailed investigation revealed financial discrepancies, police said.

Lopez, 66, and his associates Irving Betoff, 72, of Philadelphia; Roosevelt Harris, 63, of Philadelphia; and Patricia Paugh, 53, of Plymouth Meeting, Pa. surrendered to police on Thursday and were arraigned a slew of charges, according to cops.

Lopez faces a bevy of charges including dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, forgery, fraud, deceptive or fraudulent business practices, theft, receiving stolen property, identity theft and criminal conspiracy.

Betoff, Harris and Paugh are all charged with deceptive or fraudulent business practices, theft charges, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy, police said.

Paugh also faces forgery and unlawful activities charges.

No motives for the alleged thefts were given. Also, it wasn’t exactly clear how Lopez and his associates pulled off the alleged scam.
