Pig Shot With Arrows at Animal Sanctuary

Pennsylvania State Police worked to find out who shot and wounded a pig with two arrows at a suburban Philadelphia animal sanctuary.

Officials said 600-pound Bette was found last week with a 3-foot-long arrow hanging out of her gut at Chenoa Manor in London Grove Township, Chester County.

Veterinarian Rob Teti said favorable circumstances and the generosity of strangers helped save the animal Tuesday.

Vets at the New Bolton Center determined that Bette had actually been shot twice: once by the arrow that was still in her and by another that had gone through her.

The Daily Local News of West Chester reports that Bette was said to be in pain Friday but in recovery.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at the Avondale barracks.
