Even in the birthplace of the Declaration of Independence, hundreds are turning out early to watch the royal wedding live.

People flocked to watch parties at hotels, bars and other places Friday morning to watch Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot.

At the Rittenhouse Hotel in downtown Philadelphia, scores of women decked out in flowered hats and fancy dresses and men in suits and ties filled the ballroom. They ate English breakfast food and watched the live broadcast of the wedding.

Many laughed when it appeared the prince had trouble getting the ring on his bride's finger.

Fifty-four-year-old Kathy Maron was sporting a tiara. She says she was there to watch history, but that it was also her chance to feel like a princess for a day.
