Eater Names Old City Restaurant Among β€˜Best in America'

A darling of Philadelphia's culinary scene, the Israeli restaurant Zahav is once again named one of the best restaurants in America for third consecutive year, propelling the Old City dining experience into the Eater Hall of Fame.

Zahav was the only restaurant in the Greater Philadelphia region to make the list, which named 38 restaurants from around the country as "best." Eater admits the meaning of "best" is fluid, and in this case, it represents the restaurants that are leading "the dining conversation in their communities – and by extension, the nation."

Restaurateurs Steven Cook and Michael Solomonov are behind Zahav. They also operate Dizengoff, among other eateries in Philadelphia and New York.

Addison suggests heading to Zahav with a crowd to truly enjoy all of its culinary offerings. "To best appreciate Mike Solomonov’s passionate, exuberant distillation of his Israeli heritage, bring a group, and prepare to feast on mezze and smoked lamb," he wrote.
