Three Philadelphia-Area Wineries Get OK to Ship Directly to Pennsylvania Residents

Pennsylvania consumers can now get wine from Philadelphia-area wineries delivered right to their doors.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board last week approved up to 84 wine expanded permits, following a bill that expanded wine and beer sales in grocery stores, licensed restaurants, hotels and bars, and about 17 Philadelphia-region establishments were among those that were approved.

For those looking to stay home, however, the reform package also lets licensed retailers and private wholesalers ship wine directly to their consumers. About 48 nationwide direct wine shippers have so far been approved by the Control Board, including at least three in the Philadelphia region.
