Mayor Nutter's cutting the car "perk" for hundreds of city employees to help solve the budget crisis.
Ultimately, the city's fleet will be cut by 500. Nutter says that will save $1.5 million a year.
The cars and trucks that have already been turned back in will be sold at auction to raise close to $300,000, Nutter hopes.
The Mayor's 5-year spending plan is supposed to be inked by the end of the week, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Expect: Taxes Up, Spending Down.
