Death of Woman Found in Home After Fire Ruled a Homicide

The death of a woman whose body was found in a basement following a fire at a Philadelphia home has been ruled a homicide.

Firefighters responded to a house fire on the 1900 block of W. Bristol Street around 7 p.m. Friday. After bringing the flames under control, firefighters searched through the home. They then found the body of an unidentified woman in the basement.

Officials ruled the woman's death a homicide. Police also told NBC10 the woman had been beaten before her death. While they identified the woman they have not yet notified her family. No arrests have been made.
