Philly FOP Endorses Donald Trump for President

The Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police is supporting Donald Trump for president.

FOP Lodge #5 President John McNesby confirmed with NBC10 they were supporting the Republican presidential nominee, following the lead of the National Police Union which endorsed Trump Friday.

Earlier this year, the Philly FOP slammed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton over the lineup for the Democratic National Convention because they didn’t see any widows or family members of slain police officers on the initial itinerary for planned speakers.

However, Wayne Walker, the mother of slain Philadelphia Police officer Moses Walker, ultimately spoke at the convention. After Walker’s speech, McNesby told Philly.com he praised the decision by the Clinton campaign and convention organizers to add family members of slain officers to the speaking lineup. He also claimed however that they wouldn’t have been added to the lineup if the FOP hadn’t made a statement.
