Flight From Philly Heading to Ireland Diverted to Boston Due to Passenger's Medical Emergency

A flight from Philadelphia that was headed to Dublin, Ireland was diverted to Boston due to a medical emergency, police said.

American Airlines Flight 722 departed from Philadelphia International Airport en route to Dublin, Ireland but diverted to Logan Airport in Boston Monday around 10:30 p.m.

Initial reports made to police stated the flight was diverted due to an unruly passenger who had to be put in restraints. Police later determined these reports were unfounded however.

Instead police say the female passenger was suffering from a medical condition and had to be removed from the aircraft. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation and faces no charges.
