A 4-year-old boy was shot in the Tacony section of the Philadelphia Saturday.
A single bullet went through the boy's right side and entered out the left, according to police.
After a preliminary investigation, authorities said the shooting was accidental. Invesitgators said two children were playing in the home's living room when they discovered a hand gun. The gun discharged, and struck the 4-year-old.
The shooting occured at 5057 Homestead Street, around 10:15 a.m.
The boy underwent surgery and is recuperating.
No criminal charges have been filed yet.
