Pennsylvania Women Steal Cemetery Flowers, Planned to Replant Them: Police

Police say two central Pennsylvania women stole cemetery flowers on Easter Sunday because they planned to replant them outside their home.

Logan Township police say they plan to file theft and receiving stolen property charges against a 63-year-old Hollidaysburg woman and her 33-year-old daughter. The Associated Press is not naming the women because the charges had yet to be filed Wednesday.

Logan Township police Chief Tim Mercer says a witness got the license plate of the suspects' car and police went to the women's home and found the flowers.

Police were still trying to determine how many graves had flowers stolen.

The chief says he has "never, never heard of anything like this, especially around a big holiday like Easter.''
