Man, Woman From Philly Identified as Two People Shot to Death on Interstate 95 Off-Ramp

State police have not yet given a motive for the deaths off the side of the highway in Bensalem, just north of the city.

Two people were found dead following a roadside shooting Saturday evening just off the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 and Woodhaven Road in Bensalem, Bucks County.

Their bodies were found shortly after 5:30 p.m. when Pennsylvania State Police responded to a call of a woman running against traffic alongside the busy highway.

They have not yet been identified, but state police said both are from Philadelphia. One is a 60-year-old man and the other is a 32-year-old woman, police said. Their relationship was not yet known.

Their bodies were found on the on-ramp of I-95, police said.

Both died from apparent gunshot wounds, according to police.

Evidence markers could be seen dotting the immediate area where a silver SUV stopped on the interstate, the passenger door open and the hazard warning lights on. Troopers think the man and woman jumped over the barrier, police said.

Officials are working to identify the bodies and piece together what happened. Police blocked off sections of I-95 for several hours. By Sunday morning, the highway was cleared for traffic.
