Pennsylvania Police Investigate Toddler Smelling of Alcohol

Police and child welfare authorities say they're investigating after a toddler was brought to a northeast Pennsylvania hospital smelling of alcohol.

Wilkes-Barre police said Wednesday tests showed the 2-year-old had a measurable blood alcohol content. They did not disclose her condition or if she sustained any injuries.

The girl's aunt and uncle noticed the smell of alcohol on the girl Monday after picking her up from her parents' home in Wilkes-Barre, authorities said.

The man and woman alerted Luzerne County Children and Youth Services and took her to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, officials said.
