PennDOT Ridge Avenue Travel Restrictions

Drivers will encounter travel restrictions on Ridge Avenue between Northwestern Avenue and 33rd Street in Philadelphia starting Wednesday, PennDOT announced Monday.

The weeknight lane closures from 7 p.m. through 5 a.m. are due to construction efforts associated with the pavement improvement project financed by Pennsylvania’s Act 89 transportation plan.

Crews will begin milling nine miles of Ridge Avenue starting at Northwestern Avenue and move south toward 33rd Street.

Motorists can continue to expect detours the following week as crews adjust utility manholes and install curb ramps Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m.

By mid-April, paving operations on Ridge Avenue are expected to be underway.

All construction in part of the state’s resurfacing project is to be completed by September, according to general contractor James A. Anderson Construction Company, Inc.

Detours and lane closures will be posted in the area.
