Pedestrian Dead After Being Hit by Vehicle in Conshohocken

A man has died after being hit while walking along Butler Pike

Police in Whitemarsh Township said Saturday that a man who was struck by a vehicle the night before has died.

The incident closed Butler Pike for several hours on Friday.

The incident occurred, police said, just before 9 p.m., when a man -- who police declined to identify until his family has been notified -- was struck while walking along Butler Pike at Cedar Grove Road, in front of the Sherry Lake Apartments in the Conshohocken section of Whitemarsh Township.

On Saturday, police said the man -- who was a local resident -- had died of his injuries.

Law enforcement officials said that the driver of the striking vehicle, which was a Honda SUV, was on location and the driver is cooperating with the investigation.

However, the Whitemarsh Township Police Departments Traffic Safety Unit and Detective Division are still investigating this incident.
