Students will return to another semester with more food offerings at Temple University, which opened its renovated student center food court and atrium, bringing outposts of popular national eateries to the North Philly campus
Monday marks the the first day of classes at Temple, and it also marks the opening of an upgraded Howard Gittis Student Center, including new seating configurations, lighting and paint changes, among other updates.
The cost of the renovation, which was a collaboration between Temple and dining services partner Aramark, was not disclosed.
Work first began in mid-May this year and called for new operators to replace existing food court offerings.
The new Valaida S. Walker Dining Court includes seven national chains: better-burger concept BurgerFi; Chic-Fil-A; Conshohocken, Pa.-based Saladworks; Twisted Taco; Which Wich Superior Sandwiches; Zaya Mediterranean Grill; and Zen Asian Fusion Restaurant.
