Taxi Union Leader: No DNC Strike, UberBlack Doesn't Speak for Drivers

A threat from a group of UberBlack and taxi drivers to strike during the Democratic National Convention was made "out of desperation" earlier this week and the city's cab operators plan to work during the July event, according to the head of the largest group of cab operators in Philadelphia.

Ronald Blount, of the Taxi Workers Alliance of Pennsylvania – which represents roughly 1,200 drivers, insisted Thursday that there is no threat of a strike during the DNC and is inviting the public and officials to speak with the taxi operators on Friday.
