Walmart is closing its Bristol, Pa., store next month and 197 employees who work there will be affected, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification the company filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.
The retailer said in a statement that the store at 100 Commerce Circle in Bristol Park will close to the public on Nov. 9 though the pharmacy will close on Oct. 30. Walmart opened the store in 2003.
Walmart operates 160 stores in Pennsylvania. The decision to close the store was based on a variety of factors including financial performance and how it figured into the retailer’s long-term plans.

“The decision to close our Bristol store is not an easy one but, as a company, we are committed to continuing our growth and investment in Pennsylvania,” the company said in a statement.
