John Dougherty to Lead Philadelphia Building Trades Council for 4 More Years

John Dougherty, long-time leader of the electrical union, will continue as the head of the Philadelphia Building Trades Council, reelected to a 4-year term, according to an Inquirer report.

Business manager of the Local 98 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker, Dougherty, often referred to as "Johnny Doc," took over the job after the previous leader, Patrick Gillepsie, retired in December 2015.

The Inquirer said there was talk of Dougherty's role would be challenged, but that never came about.
