Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant is planning to add more brewpubs along the East Coast, a spokesman said Friday, following the Wilmington-based brewpub chain's announcement that it partnered with a Connecticut-based private investment firm.

The investment from A&M Capital Opportunities, which works with middle market companies on expansion, will help 20-year-old Iron Hill open new locations from New England to North Carolina, the company spokesman said.

The agreement is the latest in a growing trend of craft beermakers teaming up with other firms to fuel growth. Victory Brewing Company announced earlier this week it was under new ownership, a decision that company leaders said provides stability as it continues to scale up in the exceedingly popular craft beer industry. California-based Lagunitas Brewing Company also secured a big partner last year in Heineken.
