Factory tours give consumers and guests a glimpse into what it takes into making their favorite snacks and products, from Hershey's Kisses to Tabasco Sauce, but one Chester County factory is the cream of the crop, according to USA Today readers.
USA Today's Best Food Factory Tour Top 10 list spans the country, including a jelly bean factory in California, a Hawaii coffee company to iconic candy company Pez in Orange, Connecticut.
But it was Herr's Snack Factory in Nottingham, Pa., in Chester County that came out on top.
"The one-hour factory tour at Herr Foods in Nottingham, Penn., begins with an informational video about the history of Herr’s, which sets the stage for a trip past the working manufacturing rooms," USA Today said. "Visitors get so close to the action that your tour guide may actually grab potato chips right off the line and hand them to you — so fresh that they’re still warm."
