New Multimillion Dollar Terminal Opens Philadelphia International Airport

The Philadelphia International Airport has been undergoing a years-long project to upgrade one of its terminals, and a grand opening held Monday represents a milestone.

The first phase of a $30-million Terminal B project announced in May 2016 by officials at PHL, American Airlines and hospitality company OTG has been completed for some time now, adding new eateries, updated hold rooms and iPads scattered throughout the terminal.

The grand opening for the latest phase held Monday, a year and a half after the initial announcement.

“When I got into this business, I always looked forward to the day I could come back to reinvent my hometown airport at this scale,” Rick Blatstein, founder and CEO of OTG, said in a statement. “Today, that dream becomes a reality."
