Pennsylvania Assistant Principal Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

Two central Pennsylvania school districts are providing students with grief counseling after an educator died over the weekend in an apparent murder-suicide.

Avery Wilson served as assistant principal at Solanco High School since September and was a Spanish teacher and football and basketball coach at McCaskey High School from 1999 to 2005.

Authorities say Wilson and his wife, Yarra, were found dead in their Lancaster Township apartment Saturday morning. Both suffered gunshot wounds.

Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman says evidence points to murder-suicide.

The discovery came two days after the bodies of two elderly men were found at another township residence. Police said there were no obvious signs of foul play in those deaths.

Solanco schools are closed Monday due to weather. The district will provide counselors Tuesday.
