Overdosing Mom Rolls on 13-Month-Old Son and Kills Him, Police Say

A New Jersey mother was arrested after she allegedly rolled onto and suffocated her young child while overdosing on drugs.

Antoinette King, 33, of Lumberton, New Jersey, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

The Lumberton Township police department said the 13-month-old boy’s grandmother called 911 shortly after 8:30 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found King and her son, Jerimiah, both unresponsive.

The responders gave King Narcan and were able to revive her. The boy remained unconscious however. They were both taken to Virtua Memorial Hospital where Jerimiah was pronounced dead.

King was taken to Burlington County jail. An autopsy is scheduled for the boy.
