$450K in Watches Stolen in Less Than 1 Minute

Three robbers, one armed with a hammer, got away with nearly half a million dollars worth of watches in 45 seconds from a Marlton jewelry store, say police.

Evesham Police say a robbery at a high-end jewelry store in Marlton, N.J. was a well organized crime.

Three men, all wearing dark clothes and bandanas over their faces, walked into the Jay Roberts Jewelry Store along Route 73 at 7:44 p.m., Thursday, according to police.

One suspect was carrying a hammer and another was carrying a large white laundry-style bag, say police.

After ordering the employees to get on the ground, one suspect broke numerous glass cases with the hammer, while the other two worked together to collect high-end watches from the cases, according to investigators.

It was approximately 45 seconds from the time the suspects entered the store until the time they fled, say police.

They got away with merchandise valued at $450,000.

Police think whoever did this is part of the same group that pulled a similar smash and grab at Bernie Robbins in St. Davids last month.

Police say one witness saw three males matching the description enter a dark colored sedan, with a dull paint finish and NJ tags.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Evesham Police Department.

The Jay Roberts Jewelry Store made headlines in the summer of 2011 when an SUV traveling at 50 miles per hour crashed through the front window.

A fitness consultant was hailed a hero for pulling two employees from the rubble. The employees have recovered from their injuries.
