One Dead in Double Shooting in Kensington

A 25-year-old man is dead after shots were fired on a Philadelphia street early Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of gunfire near North 4th Street and West Indiana Avenue in the city's Kensington neighborhood around 12:15 a.m. and found the victim had been shot in the chest, according to officials.

Police rushed him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:27 a.m., according to officials.

A second man, 20, showed up at Temple University Hospital a short time later with a gunshot wound to his hip and right buttock, authorities said.  The hospital admitted him in serious condition.

An investigation is underway.
