Eight parked cars were set on fire, police say

Philadelphia Police are investigating car arsons in the Olney and Feltonville sections of the city.

Authorities say that eight cars were set on fire by vandals early Wednesday between 4:15 and 5:20 a.m.

The first car was found on fire on F Street, two other cars were found between the 4900 and 5100 blocks of North 2nd Street. Three vehicles were found at 3rd and Bristol Streets. A seventh incident occured on Whittaker Avenue and the last car was found on E. Sheldon Street.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fires. No one was injured in any of the blazes.

The Fire Marshal's office and the Arson Task Force are looking for surveillance video and are hoping that with the public's help, they'll find the vandals. They're asking that anyone with information on the car fires call police.
