Authorities say a northern New Jersey police officer was injured when another vehicle rear-ended his police cruiser.
New Milford police tell The Record that the crash occurred on New Bridge Road shortly before midnight Friday. But they would not release the names of the officer or the other driver.
The officer and the other driver were both taken to the hospital. The officer was treated for a cervical sprain and was later released, while the other driver was being treated for chest pains.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities say both cars were severely damaged in the accident.
