Officer Hurt in Car Crash Released From Hospital

A southern New Jersey police officer injured when a car crashed into a parked cruiser during a motor vehicle stop is now out of the hospital.

Pine Beach officer Jesse Urban suffered two broken ribs in Friday night's accident, along with lacerations to his head and face. But Ocean County prosecutors tell the Asbury Park Press that he was released from the hospital Saturday night and is now recuperating at home.

Another Pine Beach officer hurt in the accident, Robert King, was treated for undisclosed injuries and released earlier Saturday.

Two people in the car that struck the police cruiser were also taken to the hospital, where they were treated for head and face lacerations.

Charges are pending in the accident, but the investigation is ongoing.
