Crews Use Jaws of Life to Free Off-Duty Cop From Crash in Chestnut Hill

Crews were forced to use the jaws of life to free an off-duty police officer following a crash in Philadelphia early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened about midnight along the 9500 block of Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill.

The off-duty police officer lost control of his SUV, crashed into a fence and struck a pine tree. The SUV flipped on its side.

The 35-year-old off-duty cop was trapped inside the SUV. Emergency crews used the jaws of life to free him.

He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
