Pot Activist ‘NJ Weedman' Cooking Up a Restaurant in Trenton

A marijuana activist and perpetual political candidate in set to open his own restaurant in New Jersey's capital city.

The Trentonian reports that Ed Forchion, who calls himself NJ Weedman, is opening the restaurant and an adjoining sanctuary across the street from Trenton's city hall.

Forchion has long fought for marijuana legalization in New Jersey. He says marijuana activists from around the country sent him donations to open the restaurant, but that he will not sell marijuana.

He says NJ Weedman's Joint will serve affordable and healthy food, along with natural energy drinks. The adjoining Liberty Bell Temple III will serve coffee and have Wi-Fi.

Forchion operated two Liberty Bell Temples in Los Angeles, but the second closed in 2011 after it was raided by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

He plans to open June 15.
