NJ Man in Critical After Being Ejected From Car During Crash on I-295

A young man is fighting for his life after he crashed into a pole and was ejected from his vehicle.

Andrew Oswald III of Hamilton Township, New Jersey was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier shortly after 1:30 a.m. Sunday on I-295 in Hamilton Township.

As he was driving, Oswald somehow lost control of his vehicle and struck the left side of a bridge barrier. His vehicle continued moving and struck a guardrail, investigators said.

The impact caused the vehicle to flip over and Oswald was ejected. He was found by police lying face down in the center median. He was taken to the Helene Fuld Medical Center where he is being treated for head and internal injuries. He is currently in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

Police discovered open containers of alcohol inside Oswald’s vehicle according to investigators. Charges are pending the results of his blood alcohol test.

No one else was involved or hurt in the accident.
