Sayreville school officials are considering selling ad space, including on its buses, to raise money.
The initiative calls for the district to develop a plan to sell advertising to hospitals, universities and other vendors.
Superintendent Richard Labbe told NJ.com he believes the proposal could generate as much as an additional $1 million.
Labbe said the district's 2014-2015 total operating budget is just over $79.5 million compared to $76.3 million during the 2013-2014 school year.
It will be up to the school board to regulate the district's marketing plan.
