A former music teacher in Paterson has admitted engaging in sex acts with a 16-year-old female student.
Forty-eight-year-old Scott Van Hoven of Hudson, New York, pleaded guilty to official misconduct and criminal sexual contact.
Van Hoven used to live in Parsippany and taught at John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson.
Morris County prosecutors say the sex acts occurred in Parsippany and Paterson.
Van Hoven faces up to seven years in prison when he's sentenced in May.
