New Jersey Motor Vehicle Fees to Stay the Same

New Jersey motorists will not pay more for a driver's license or motor vehicle registration this year.

The state Motor Vehicle Commission is not raising fees.

MVC chief administrator Raymond Martinez told NJ.com the last increase was 2009. Martinez says some fees have decreased since then.

The agency is in the process of deciding what to do about the state's inspection stations. The contract with the company that currently operates them, Parsons Corp., expires in 2016.

Martinez is not saying whether the state plans to turn the job over to private garages.
