New Jersey Man Indicted on Attempted Murder in March Stabbing

A man accused of stabbing and seriously injuring a woman inside a southern New Jersey home earlier this year has been indicted on attempted murder charges.

Ocean County prosecutors say Christopher Dalzell also faces two weapons counts in the indictment handed up by a county grand jury. The 59-year-old Brick man remains jailed on $200,000 bail, and it wasn't clear Monday if he's retained an attorney.

The stabbing occurred in March at a Brick home

Authorities have said the 50-year-old victim was stabbed more than six times in the chest and abdomen. The woman told officers she knew the person who stabbed her.

Dalzell was soon found covered with blood in a bedroom in the home.

The woman was seriously injured but has since recovered.
