Piece of Car Leads to Hit-And-Run Charges for NJ Man

Ocean County authorities have arrested a man on charges stemming from a hit-and-run accident that left a pedestrian dead in Toms River.

Authorities have charged 51-year-old Mark Rothlein with leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death. The Toms River resident is held on $100,000 bail.

Officials believe Rothlein was behind the wheel of his wife's blue Jeep Wrangler when he struck and killed 27-year-old Jeffrey Michel of Colts Neck near Fisher Boulevard on March 6.

A piece of the vehicle was left at the scene.
