New Jersey Doctor Forfeits License in Painkiller Prescription Scheme

A New Jersey neurologist charged this week with selling prescription painkillers through an employee has agreed to forfeit his medical license temporarily.

William Wolfe, 52, of Marlton, allegedly prescribed painkillers to people who didn't need them and gave an employee blank signed prescriptions to sell, prosecutors said.

The employee allegedly used the proceeds from the illegal sales to pay for car repairs once, prosecutors said.

Undercover investigators posing as patients were able to acquire the prescriptions.

Wolfe was released without bail. It's not known if he has a lawyer.
